My Visit to Ermita Hill in Baler
Ermita Hill is one that you must visit while in Baler. I went there on November 08, 2025.
I took some videos to show how beautiful this place is.
Ermita Hills is located in Mt. Dibudalan at Sitio Dicaloyungan, Barangay Zabali, Baler. This was the place where the residents of Baler climbed to survive from Tromba Marino in 1735.
At the entrance, you will see the statue of tromba Marino that narrates the story.

There are two ways to reach the top of Ermita Hill. One is to use the stairs located near the Tromba Marino Statue – make sure you are ready to sweat. And the other entrance is where you can use vehicles up to the Hill.
As you approach the top, you will see the view of Ermita and many different kinds of trees.

And you will also see one of the cottages. From there you can see the full view of town of Baler below.

The next cottage is a small chapel and nearby is the ancient viewing point and tunnel.

Once you reach the very top of Ermita, you can see the circular space surrounded by cottages and trees. Anyone may use the cottages, this is the place where you can relax, dine with your friends, classmates or family while enjoying the nature and the view of Pacific Ocean.

I remember when I was young, we used to go to Ermita Hill with my family every Holy Week.
When in college, this became our hangout spot with my classmates since ASCOT(my school) was just walking distance to Ermita.

Until now, I still amazed every time I visit Ermita. It reminds me how beautiful Baler is.
The Best time to visit Ermita is between 8am to 4pm. So you can still enjoy the view from the top.

Lastly, if you are looking for a place with history, nature, and a nice view. Ermita Hill should be in your list.
