Baler Surf Fest 2025: An Unforgettable Awarding Night with Ely Buendia
From November 17 to 23, 2025, Baler once again became the center of surfing, music, and tourism as it hosted the Baler Surf Fest 2025 at Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora. Throughout the week, surfers from different countries competed in the World Surf League (WSL) competition while locals and tourists gathered to experience one of the biggest events in Baler.
Although I wasn’t able to attend the entire week-long festival, I had the opportunity to witness its grand finale on the last day. The closing celebration, themed “Baler Surf and Sound”, featured the Awarding Ceremony and Ultimate Concert Party, bringing together surfing, live music, and an energetic crowd for an unforgettable evening.

One of the most memorable parts of the event for me was performing as one of the front act bands. My band, Five Echo, had the opportunity to perform on the same stage as several talented local and guest artists. It was truly an honor to be part of such a prestigious event that celebrated both sports and music.
After recognizing the outstanding surfers and champions of this year’s competition, the celebration continued with an exciting lineup of live performances.

The biggest highlight of the night was the performance of Ely Buendia & The Methodists. Hearing Ely perform live in Baler was a special experience for many fans. The audience enthusiastically sang along, creating an incredible atmosphere that perfectly capped off the festival.
